Seeking a consultant gastroenterologist for a full time position with a premier general hospital on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island.
Position Highlights
- Permanent FTE post in a large, secondary level, 400-bed accredited public facility providing acute and elective care for a region of over 176,000 people.
- The hospital is a modern facility with a full range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services, including MRI, and is one of the largest provincial hospitals in New Zealand
- gastroenterology services are housed in one place providing 2 procedure rooms, patient recovery, resource and administration areas, clinic spaces and meeting rooms
- busy service provides over 3,000 endoscopy procedures per year and approximately 2,000 outpatient appointments.
- Gastroenterology team currently comprises three gastroenterologists, and nurses lead by two registered nurses with extensive gastroenterology outpatient, and endoscopy experience
- job involves teaching, continuing medical education and quality improvement
- 40 hour week plus on call rota
Requirements
- FRACP or equivalent qualification accepted by the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Competitive salary in accordance with ASMS MECA or IEA
- Additional allowances for on-call duties
- 6% employer contribution to pension scheme
- 6 weeks annual leave and 10 days study leave with $16,000 annual allowance
