Seeking a consultant anaesthetist for a 0.75- 0.8 FTE permanent position in one of the South Island's most sought after locations.
Position Highlights
- 40 hour working week
- On call rota participation
- join a team of 16 experienced and supportive SMO colleagues.
- 140 bed secondary care hospital
- scope of practice: participate in the anaesthetic roster, covering: planned care and acute theatre sessions, anaesthesia after-hours on call support, anaesthetic pre-assessment clinics and working as the duty anaesthetist .
- provide support to other departments including: obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology and Dental.
- provide anaesthesia for visiting subspecialty surgeons in paediatric surgery.
- Supervise and participate in teaching of junior medical workforce
Professional Requirements
- FANZCA or equivalent specialist qualification
- Eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Experience in paediatric anaesthesia desirable
Remuneration Package
- Salary (ASMS scale depending upon experience)
- superannuation at 6%
- 6 weeks annual leave
- 12 days public holidays
- 10 days study leave plus NZD16K pa for expenses
