The Position
The successful registrar will work alongside accredited surgical trainees, other unaccredited registrars and dedicated junior medical staff.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting assigned general surgical teams
- Assessing and managing surgical inpatients
- Participating in evening and weekend rosters
- Providing rostered night cover
- Attending outpatient clinics, ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings
- Assisting with emergency and elective surgical care
- Supervising and supporting junior medical staff
- Contributing to clinical governance, audit and quality-improvement activities
