POSITION OVERVIEW
Based with New Zealand 's premier tertiary hospital laboratory this Genetic Pathologist position is both full time and permanent. Its overall aim is to enhance health outcomes for people in the Auckland region through clinical and laboratory practice, teaching, supervision, research, service and leadership
The successful pathologist will join a Diagnostic Genetics team working in NZ's largest and highly specialised hospital-based laboratory service. The Diagnostic Genetics service is undergoing significant expansion and this role will contribute to the provision and development of both germline and somatic genomic services.
The Diagnostic Genetics department has established links with the University of Auckland and there will be an opportunity to be involved in research and teaching.
For those candidates also interested in an academic role with the University of Auckland, a 0.4 FTE position at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences will be advertised in parallel.
Remuneration
- Salary for 40 hour week in accordance with SECA Collective Agreement
- Additional allowances for on call and extra duties

Professional Requirements
- qualified physician with completed specialist training in pathology and subspecialist training in genetic pathology
- eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in the scope of pathology
