An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced Advanced Trainee to undertake a Fellow in Geriatric Medicine (FIGM) position within the Greater Victorian Alliance (GVA) as part of the Victorian Geriatric Medicine Training Program.
This role is designed to strengthen the geriatric workforce across Victoria while enhancing the quality of Advanced Training, improving equitable access to specialist care, and supporting clinicians working with older people—particularly in regional and rural settings.
About the Role
The FIGM position plays a pivotal leadership and educational role within the alliance, supporting Advanced Trainees across geographically dispersed health services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing structured support and mentorship to Advanced Trainees in Geriatric Medicine
- Maintaining engagement with trainees across regional sites through on-site and virtual visits
- Supporting high-quality training standards across participating services
- Contributing to workforce development initiatives in regional Victoria
- Liaising with the Advisory Committee and GVA Committee of Management regarding training and service delivery priorities
