Hospital
- 350-bed secondary hospital in the Lower North Island of New Zealand. Palmerston North Hospital which offers most medical and surgical specialties with the exception of Cardiothoracic, Plastic and Neurosurgery.
- serves a local population of 180,000 but is the base for a regional head and neck oncology service which has responsibility for a population of 600,000
- Clinical Haematology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology services provide inpatient and outpatient haematology care and manage a wide range of haematological conditions including acute leukaemia, lymphoma, autologus stem cell transplantation, plasma exchange, haemostatsis and thrombosis.
- Out patient clinics run at various sites across the region
- The department maintains an active clinical research portfolio including clinical trials.
- The service is an approved FRACP training center and undertakes active postgraduate teaching at House Officer, Senior House Officer and Registrar level. Multi-disciplinary case meetings (Tumour Boards) are held locally and regionally.
- Medical Degree recognised by WHO
- FRACP or equivalent specialist qualification
- Interest in haemato-oncology
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or be eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration
- Salary ASMS scale for 40 hour week plus allowances NZD 220,000 - 400,00 PA
- 6 weeks annual leave
