Job Overview
This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding cardiology service in a regional secondary care hospital in this southern part of New Zealand's North Island.
The cardiology service is currently undergoing significant development, including the expansion of dedicated facilities for diagnostic angiography, PCI, and pacemaker implantation.
The position is full-time and permanent and attracts competitive remuneration with a relocation package for international applicants.
The scope of practice of this position is non-interventional cardiology and electrophysiology with skills in pacing.
The 360 bed hospital serves a population of approximately 180,000 with a comprehensive range of cardiology services including diagnostic angiography, pacing, echocardiography, CTCA, CMRI, and an integrated heart failure and inpatient service.
Available services include:
- Exercise ECGs
- Ambulatory monitoring
- Echocardiography (including TOE)
- Diagnostic cardiac angiography and PCI
- CT coronary angiography
- Cardiac MRI
- SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging
- Permanent pacemaker insertion and follow-up

Professional Requirements
- Medical degree and FRACP or equivalent qualification in cardiology
- Eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Proven clinical experience in cardiology
- A strong understanding of departmental development and clinical governance
