Position Highlights
  • suitable for a PGY3 or above RMO with basic experience in psychiatry
  • Psychiatry department service spans community mental health, the inpatient unit, acute services, and ICAMHS, working collaboratively to provide holistic, culturally responsive care across the full spectrum of mental health needs
  • The Registrar in Psychiatry/SHO will be responsible for the delivery of mental health assessment and treatment of both hospital and community whanau
  • The Registrar in Psychiatry/SHO will work under specialist Psychiatrist supervision at all times.
  • You will carry out outpatient clinics, ward work and on-calls with a specialist psychiatrist available to you at all times

Professional Requirements
  • Medical Degree recognised by WHO 
  • Experience PGY3+ minimum
  • Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or be eligible for general or provisional general registration
