Position Highlights:
- Full time employment, 40 hour week plus on call duties
- Non SET position which uniquely offers hands-on time in both the operating theatre and endoscopy suite, giving you ample experience in preparation for advanced training.
- Registrars are responsible for managing patients on the ward, acute admissions and attending clinical activities (Operating theatre, endoscopy, clinics).
- After-hours on-call is generally one week night per week and one weekend per month (Friday - Sunday).
- Good flexibility to allow for personal and professional leave.
- Department of General Surgery consists of five General Surgeons, each with their own sub-specialty interest. There is one training registrar and one non-training registrar. There are currently four house surgeons on the team.
- 110 bed acute care hospital which serves a wide geographical area, with a full range of diagnostic facilities on site including a new MRI scanner and CT scanner.

- Medical Degree recognised by WHO
- Experience PGY3+ minimum
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or be eligible for general or provisional general registration
- Salary RADA or STONZ scale or IEA
