Job Overview
This job is based with a well-established team of ID physicians, AMS Pharmacists, HIV nurses and Infection Prevention and Control Practitioners providing services across the Bay of Plenty and planning extension to services to neighbouring regions.
  • based in a 359 bed secondary care hospital providing secondary care services
  • 40 hour working week plus on call duties
  • Involves travel across three North Island regions
  • Excellent remuneration package with visa sponsorship, relocation package and study leave allowance and additional benefits
  • Located in a region with an excellent lifestyle, native bush, beautiful lakes and rivers, unique geothermal landscapes and some of the best mountain biking and walking/running trails in NZ.
  • opportunities for clinical infection-based research 
  • involved with SNAP and ReMAP-CAP as well as the planning of ROADMAP and other bacteraemia and allergy-based research. 

The Bay of Plenty is a large region along the northern coast of New Zealand's North Island. It stretches 260 kilometres from the Coromandel Peninsula in the west to Cape Runaway in the east. The Bay of Plenty region is home to spectacular beaches, juicy kiwifruit and geothermal wonders.

Requirements
  • Medical Degree recognised by WHO 
  • FRACP or equivalent specialist qualification
  • Fellowship / Sub specialist training in infectious diseases
  • Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or be eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration
