Seeking a Consultant ENT Surgeon for a permanent job in a public sector hospital in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand's stunning north coast, offering competitive remuneration, relocation package and generous leave.
This is a leadership role with a three year tenure to lead the ENT Surgical Department as its clinical director. 90% of time will be allocated to clinical work and 10% to the leadership role. The start date is June 2026.
Key Duties
The Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology plays a vital role, working collaboratively with the team to provide effective, high-quality leadership across all areas of service delivery.
This role provides direct leadership, coaching and support to colleagues within the service, and participates in recruitment, professional reviews, and practice development in alignment with organizational goals and population requirements.
Position Highlights:
- Permanent, full time job in a public sector hospital with a team of three ENT Surgeons
- This is a full time role made up of six clinical sessions per week i.e 2 operating half days and four half day outpatient clinic.
- Manage in patients and out patients
- There are multiple opportunities for teaching junior staff and participating in internal education sessions.
- The operating theatre has been refurbished and there are plans to extend the number of theatres in the near future. There is very good collegial support within the department and across all services.
- Eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- FRACS or equivalent qualification
- 5 years experience at consultant or SMO level
- Salary and allowances paid in accordance with ASMS Collective Agreement
