Seeking a consultant spinal surgeon for a full time permanent contract with a tertiary hospital in New Zealand's North Island. Competitive compensation with relocation support and visa sponsorship.

Position highlights 
  • major tertiary referral and teaching centre providing a full range of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery.
  • 40 hour working week plus on call duties
  • working across acute and elective surgery, outpatient clinics, teaching
     
Duties

The role requires a candidate who would be able to provide expert surgical and non-surgical care for a wide range of spinal conditions, including degenerative diseases, trauma, and tumours.
  • Perform advanced procedures, including minimally invasive spine surgery and complex spinal reconstructions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, and pain specialists.
  • Contribute to clinical teaching, research and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call rosters for acute spinal and trauma cases and participate in the Orthopaedic or Neurosurgery call roste



Requirements
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS) - orthopaedics or neurosurgery, or an equivalent qualification and be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
  • Fellowship in spinal surgery
  • Proven expertise in spinal surgery, including minimally invasive techniques and complex cases

Remuneration
  • salary and allowances NZD 200,000 - 450,000 PA DOE
  • relocation package

  • study leave and allowance of NZD 16K pa
  • 6 weeks paid vacation PA
