As a Pulmonology Physician, you will:
- Provide clinical expertise across the speciality of General Respiratory and basic Sleep Medicine, participating in the delivery of excellent patient care, research and regional expertise in line with the organisation’s vision and values.
- Undertake outpatient chest clinics (2 per week) and provide a bronchoscopy service and other early management of suspected lung cancer patients.
- Liaise with tertiary respiratory services in multidisciplinary management of patients with lung cancer and complex respiratory disorders.
- Work with respiratory physiologists to oversee the lung function laboratory.
- Collaborate with specialist respiratory nurse and physiotherapist staff managing patients with airways disease and long term oxygen therapy.
- You have the opportunity to participate in the acute general medicine service or intensive care unit, based on your clinical experience and interests.
- Balanced workload with 40-hour weeks and manageable on-call duties
- Typical workday from 8am to 4pm, leaving ample time for leisure and family activities

Remuneration : Salary and Allowances
- Salary dependent upon experience and ASMS scale
- Allowances for on call and extra duties
- Total remuneration NZD 200000 - 400000 PA
- superannuation 6%
- 6 weeks annual leave
- Study leave 10 days PA plus NZD 16K PA

- FRACP or equivalent qualification
- Subspecialist training in respiratory medicine
- Proficiency in performing bronchoscopies and managing lung cancer referrals
- Eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
