Seeking a consultant radiation oncologist for a full time permanent contract with a tertiary hospital in New Zealand's North Island. Competitive compensation with relocation support and visa sponsorship.

Position highlights 
  • a tertiary referral and teaching hospital located 90 minutes drive from Auckland
  • Radiation oncology department operates on the Eclipse planning system and boasts four linear accelerators capable of delivering state-of-the-art radiation treatments, including rotational IMRT and cone beam CT image guidance.
  • use cutting-edge technology such as TrueBeam, HyperArc and Halcyon for radiation procedures
  • use superficial kilovoltage equipment for the treatment of skin cancers
  • national leaders in HDR brachytherapy, with an active brachytherapy programme in treating gynaecological and prostate malignancies.
  • stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR) for lung cancer and lung metastases, as well as linear accelerator-based fractionated radiosurgery for brain metastases.
  • well established SABR protocols for the spine, kidney, and prostate, with opportunities for the successful applicant to optimise current SABR protocols or contribute to the development of stereotactic techniques for other body sites.
  • New Zealand's  national provider of total skin electron therapy for skin lymphomas.
  • oncology team comprises  eight medical oncologists, nine haematologists, ten radiation oncologists, and five palliative care physicians.
  • Waikato region offers wonderful opportunities for a family and outdoor enthusiasts.
     
Requirements

Fellowship of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR)  or an equivalent qualification and be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).

Remuneration
  • salary and allowances NZD 200,000 - 450,000 PA DOE
  • relocation package

  • study leave and allowance of NZD 16K pa
  • 6 weeks paid vacation PA
