Position Highlights
- job based in an accredited, 850-bed, teaching hospital of Auckland University and University of Otago, well-known internationally for world class work in orthopaedics; burns and spinal injury rehabilitation
- secondary paediatric acute care is provided in emergency and inpatient settings, while a comprehensive range of outpatient/ambulatory care is delivered in the community centres
- the primary purpose of this position is to provide specialist paediatric medical assessment and management for children and young people in the acute care setting.
- Activities include 1:6 ward weeks (including the weekends), and rostered days working within the Emergency Department leading the team of paediatric RMOs.
- There is an opportunity to participate in the after-hours on-call roster.
- A component of ambulatory work is required to provide timely access for patients urgently referred to clinic.
- Support work in the day-stay unit.
- participate in medical student and RMO teaching

- FRACP or equivalent qualification
- Eligible for vocational registration within the scope of paediatrics with the Medical Council of New Zealand or Special Purpose Locum Tenens registration
The remuneration packages defined by the SECA Collective Agreement
- basic salary for a 40 hour week and additional allowances for on Call Duty
- six weeks holiday per year
- 10 days study leave plus an allowance of 16,000 dollars per year
- relocation package covering cost of removal to New Zealand
- superannuation
