Position Highlights
- 0.85 FTE post in a large, secondary level, 400-bed accredited public facility providing acute and elective care for a region of over 176,000 people.
- operates air retrieval service
- provide consultant led antenatal, gynaecology and colposcopy clinic services
- work in Maternity, the surgical wards, operating theatre, early pregnancy clinic and the emergency department
- a requirement to provide outlying clinics
- On Call duties include responsibility for labour and birthing, acute antenatal and gynaecological assessments and admissions and responsibility of all inpatient acute or from elective surgery after hours.
- Day to day supervision of junior medical staff is required with registrars and SHOs and final year medical students working within the unit and there is the expectation to pick up a role as supervisor of training for some of these junior doctors.

Requirements
- FANZCOG or equivalent qualification accepted by the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Competitive salary in accordance with ASMS MECA or IEA
- Additional allowances for on-call duties
- 6% employer contribution to pension scheme
- 6 weeks annual leave and 10 days study leave with $16,000 annual allowance
