Job Overview
Seeking a Consultant Geriatrician for a permanent job in a public sector hospital in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand's stunning north coast, offering competitive remuneration, relocation package and generous leave.

Position Highlights:
  • Permanent, full time job in a public sector hospital with a geriatric medicine team based in a purpose built 24-bedded ward which provides care for older patients and those requiring rehabilitation or who have suffered a stroke.
  • Geriatric team consists of one other specialist, a geriatric nurse specialist, a registrar and house officer as well an excellent interdisciplinary team of allied health professionals and nurses.
  • Outpatient and community assessments
  • Services include perioperative frailty service, specialist Parkinson’s disease interdisciplinary clinic and  a memory clinic.
  • Close links with physician colleagues, older person mental health services, NASC, and community based colleagues.
  • Proposed development of an acute in patient geriatric service that would be well placed to provide advice to orthopaedic and surgical teams. 
  • Teaching and supervision of 4th and 6th year medical students and medical registrars in training:  
Professional Requirements
  • Eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • FRACP or equivalent qualification
Remuneration Package 
  • Salary and allowances NZD 220K - 350K PA
  • 6 weeks annual leave, 10 days study leave plus NZD 16K for expenses
  • relocation package
  • superannuation 6%
  • permanent transferable contract
