Seeking a Consultant Geriatrician for a permanent job in a public sector hospital in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand's stunning north coast, offering competitive remuneration, relocation package and generous leave.
Position Highlights:
- Permanent, full time job in a public sector hospital with a geriatric medicine team based in a purpose built 24-bedded ward which provides care for older patients and those requiring rehabilitation or who have suffered a stroke.
- Geriatric team consists of one other specialist, a geriatric nurse specialist, a registrar and house officer as well an excellent interdisciplinary team of allied health professionals and nurses.
- Outpatient and community assessments
- Services include perioperative frailty service, specialist Parkinson’s disease interdisciplinary clinic and a memory clinic.
- Close links with physician colleagues, older person mental health services, NASC, and community based colleagues.
- Proposed development of an acute in patient geriatric service that would be well placed to provide advice to orthopaedic and surgical teams.
- Teaching and supervision of 4th and 6th year medical students and medical registrars in training:
- Eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- FRACP or equivalent qualification
- Salary and allowances NZD 220K - 350K PA
- 6 weeks annual leave, 10 days study leave plus NZD 16K for expenses
