Position Overview
- This secondary care hospital Gastroenterology service caters to the population of the Bay of Plenty Region with ambulatory outpatient clinics and endoscopy services at two sites, an acute inpatient service and an after-hours acute endoscopy service.
- The Gastroenterology team includes seven SMOs, advanced training registrar roles, nurse endoscopist and clinical nurse specialists.
- The department commenced participation in the National Bowel Screening in 2022 and is continuing to meet national wait time indicators.
- 40 hour working week plus on call duties

Requirements
- Medical Degree recognised by WHO
- FRACP or equivalent specialist qualification
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or be eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration
- have experience in delivery of both diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Salary ASMS scale for 40 hour week
- 6 weeks annual leave
