Position Highlights
- Fixed term FTE post in a large, secondary level, 400-bed accredited public facility providing acute and elective care for a region of over 176,000 people.
- The general medicine department cares for over 8,000 patients each year. It includes 4 medical wards and a 20-bed acute assessment unit.
- currently 8 teams run with registrar, house officer, and trainee intern support.
- The medical department has a strong team spirit and a busy education calendar. It includes over 40 doctors from various specialties.
- There are currently workstreams dedicated to supporting the improvement of patient outcomes, reviewing models of care, improving patient flow, and addressing inequity in healthcare.
- 40 hour week plus on call rota

Requirements
- FRACP or equivalent qualification accepted by the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Competitive salary in accordance with ASMS MECA or IEA
- Additional allowances for on-call duties
- 6% employer contribution to pension scheme
- 6 weeks annual leave and 10 days study leave with $16,000 annual allowance
