The hospital is a 260 bed secondary general facility with full range of medical and surgical services including 24/7 emergency department. It supports three small satellite hospitals across the Northland region of the North Island of New Zealand and enjoys tertiary support from Auckland.
Position Highlights:
- scope of practice is acute general medicine including Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), hot clinics and short stay wards, Emergency Department and managing inpatients.
- 40 hour week plus on call rota participation
- General Medicine Department facilities include an assessment unit, endoscopy and cardiac catheter suite, in patient beds, out patient clinics with the agreed funding for a new hospital which is currently in the planning stage.
