Your first step to securing a medical laboratory scientist job in New Zealand is to apply for registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand. You can apply for this on line at the Council's website and if your application is successful, the Council will issue you a certificate of registration and a letter which defines your scope of practice and supervision period if required. You can then apply for jobs.
Medical Laboratory Scientists usually work on full time contracts for 40 hours per week but some out of hours on call duties may be required to maintain hospital diagnostic services.
