12-month full time Registrar position commencing February 2026
FRANZCP Training Position
Hours per fortnight: 86 (inclusive of 10 hours training time) plus on call duties
This Psychiatry Registrar training position involves providing comprehensive assessment and treatment of psychiatric patients, both in hospital and clinic.
This includes:
- ongoing clinical management of allocated patients
- ensuring thorough documentation of all clinical matters
- active liaison with multidisciplinary staff regarding patient care, the preparation of reports for the Mental Health Tribunal (MHT), and attendance at hearings where appropriate.
- participate in educational activities, Quality Improvement initiatives, team and departmental meetings, ward rounds, journal club, and case conferences
- maintaining accurate records, statistics, and reports
- contribute to service development as required
- participation in the after-hours duty and on-call roster
The hospital is a secondary level general hospital with clinical operations encompassing acute, allied health, cancer, dental and mental health services, a wide range of general medical, surgical and specialty services including but not limited to; Oncology, Cardiology, Renal, Emergency, Women's and Children's, Critical Care, Specialist Clinics, Cancer Clinics and Mental Health Services.
Professional Requirements
- Medical Degree
- Completed prevocational training and basic psychiatry experience
- Eligible for general AHPRA registration
Remuneration Package
- Salary in accordance with RMO scales Classification: HM25 - HM30 - Relevant to year of experience, Salary per hour (exc. super) : As per award
