Position Details
- Classification: Registrar Year 1 (HM25) - Registrar Year 6+ (HM30)
- Salary: As per applicable award (excluding superannuation)
- Hours: 86 hours per fortnight
- Employment Type: Full Time, Fixed Term
- Contract Dates: 3 August 2026 - 31 January 2027
- Mandatory Requirement: 2026 Influenza Vaccination
This role provides comprehensive experience across the paediatric patient journey, including:
- Acute care across Emergency Department and Critical Care settings
- Inpatient management and outpatient follow-up clinics
- Participation in telehealth/video-conference reviews supporting regional hospitals
- Exposure to neonates and paediatric patients managed in rural settings
- Involvement in a shared-care oncology model with leading tertiary centres, including management of febrile neutropenia and delivery of basic chemotherapy
- Collaboration with university clinical schools, including teaching and supervision of medical students
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centred paediatric care across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Participate in rostered duties, including after-hours and on-call requirements
- Support junior staff and contribute to multidisciplinary team care
- Engage in teaching, clinical audit, and quality improvement activities
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
- Registration (or eligibility) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Relevant postgraduate clinical experience in paediatrics
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
