Opportunity Overview
A unique Fellow in Geriatric Medicine (FIGM) position is available for 2026 within a collaborative, state-wide geriatric medicine training framework supporting the Greater Victorian Alliance (GVA). This role is ideal for senior trainees or early-career specialists with a strong interest in education, workforce development, and regional training support.
The appointment offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development and quality of geriatric medicine training across regional Victoria, while maintaining strong clinical and educational engagement with advanced trainees.
The Role
The FIGM role is designed to support Advanced Trainees in Geriatric Medicine across the alliance, with particular focus on those based in regional and geographically dispersed settings. Key elements include:
- Supporting the delivery and quality of advanced geriatric medicine training
- Maintaining regular engagement with trainees through on-site and/or virtual visits
- Contributing to educational activities, mentoring, and professional development
- Strengthening collaboration across participating health services within the alliance
