Responsibilities
- provide medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department and refer as appropriate
- conduct out patient clinics
- manage in patients
- work as part of a team
- undertake administrative duties as required
- undertake clinical teaching of junior doctors and students as required
- Eligible for vocational registration in rural medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- FRACP or equivalent qualification
- Broad base of general medical experience and a proven ability to practice safely as a sole Medical Officer in an isolated rural setting, dealing with a wide range of general medical/surgical conditions,
including emergency stabilisation and treatments before transfer of critically ill patients - driving licence
