Our client is looking for registrars in medicine to join an accredited comprehensive training programme in Rural Medicine commencing as soon as possible.

- Accredited training post in Rural and Remote Medicine

- Secondary care service with tertiary care at university referral hospital
- General registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand required
You will be part of a dynamic team of Rural Hospital Registrars and Consultants across a minimum of three sites during your four year training. Your training will comprehensively cover all requirements of your DRHMNZ training programme during your employment with the health board.
You will have extensive consultant supervision allowing you to take on further responsibilities as your skills grow. Working closely with your community means that you will develop an in depth understanding of rural health care in New Zealand.
Close supervision is provided for trainees in acute and outpatient settings, allied with a commitment to teaching. There is an active clinical training programme within the health board including support for your DRHMNZ academic training components and required courses.
The role is based in a region of the North Island of New Zealand with 4 hospitals covering an extensive area of territory. The largest hospital is a regional base hospital with 350 + beds providing secondary care services including 24/7 emergency department, medical and surgical specialties, ICU, ENT, O&G, Paediatrics and Psychiatry. The three smaller hospitals provide basic primary and secondary care. The population has complex health needs.
The successful applicant will be living in a beautiful part of New Zealand with warm summers, mild winters and lots of opportunities for outdoor activities on land and at sea just two hours' drive from Auckland, with regular flights to and from Auckland Airport.
