Excellent opportunities commencing December 2017 to start Registrar roles in Internal Medicine. The posts are accredited for RACP training; 24 months basic training and 12 months advanced training.

The roles are based in a large region in the North Island of New Zealand, close to Auckland the largest city which is the tertiary referral centre. The hospital where the roles are based is a secondary care hospital with 200+ beds, 24/7 ER, ICU, medical and surgical services, the fastest CT scanner in the southern hemisphere. This facility acts as a referral centre for three small hospitals spread throughout the region.

You will be part of a dynamic team of Medical Registrars and Consultants with special interests in cardiology, diabetes, respiratory medicine, nephrology and oncology. Close supervision for trainees in acute and outpatient settings is provided, allied with a commitment to teaching. There is an active clinical training programme with didactic sessions, interactive based teaching, journal club and videoconferencing of RACP lectures.

 

Role Requirements:

  • General Registration or Eligibility for General Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • Internship completed and minimum 2 years experience at SHO level in Internal Medicine
  • Fluent English 
  • Intention to take FRACP exams or complete postgraduate training in Internal Medicine.
