We are seeking a Registrar in General Surgery on behalf of a regional hospital in Western Australia.The Surgical Department small but busy operating department offering high quality, efficient surgical experience. The Day Procedures and Theatres area provide consultant surgical and anaesthetic services for the specialities of general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, urology, orthopaedics, plastics, ENT, emergency and trauma. The successful registrars will be required to work with consultants in the efficient delivery of KPIs, timely discharge summaries and efficient discharge planning.
The position is open to commence from now for 6 months. Applicants with at least 6 months surgical experience are preferred.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the clinical care of patients under the supervision of senior medical staff including:
•attending to patients in order of medical urgency;
•taking history of full medical examinations of new admissions and arranging appropriate investigations and assisting with medical procedures as required;
•managing medical conditions according to acceptable clinical standards under supervision of consultants;
•collaborating with other Medical, Nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members to facilitate patient management and communication with family, outside medical practitioners, and/or community services concerning patient management.
•Eligible for registration with the AHPRA (candidates with limited and provisional registration my apply)
•Minimum experience in general surgery 6 month
