Full or part time Radiologist sought for an expanding Radiology department in a district health board in the North Island of New Zealand. Situated just 2 hours drive from Auckland and surrounded by magnificient scenery, the region is populated by over 160,000 inhabitants servced by one major hospital and three smaller hospitals providing basic secondary care to the rural communities.
The health board provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging services with over 100,000 procedures undertaken annually by XRay, CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy and basic interventional procedures. The department has modern imaging equipment with two CT scanners (256 slice and 16 Slice) and a 1.5T MRI.
Radiologists are multi-skilled, but the development of a special interest is supported. Ongoing education is encouraged and supported. Multi-disciplinary meetings are held weekly with all specialities being involved.
A strong sub-speciality interest or a sub-speciality fellowship would be an advantage for this role.
To be considerd for this role you must have the following credentials:
- Specialist qualification in radiology FRCR or equivalent
- Eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Fluent English communication
