Are you a Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist with a range of interventional skills but still willing and able to do general diagnostic radiology including CT and Ultra Sound? Our client in New Zealand may have the perfect job for you.
As a full time radiologist you would work in Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology including CT, Ultrasound, general imaging and the option of MRI sessions.
We are looking for someone who has the following interventional skills:
• Vascular intervention including angioplasty/ stenting, embolisation (neuro skills NOT needed)
• Biliary intervention, access, stenting
• All drain insertions
• Vascular access including haemodialysis access and PICC line insertions
• MSK intervention, eg US guided steroid injections is desirable
• Breast work (optional)
The department has an interesting and varied workload carrying out approximately 96,000 examinations a year in a provincial city, servicing a total regional population of around 166,000. Regional services to a larger population also include: Oncology, Breast Screening, Renal and Urology, with clinics held at the hospital including Respiratory, Rheumatology, Paediatrics and visiting specialists from Wellington for Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic surgery.
The hospital has up to date equipment including CT, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, DSA, and seven general digital radiography rooms and Nuclear Medicine with two gamma cameras. RIS/PACS was installed in 2009. A private provider, Broadway Radiology, has an MRI in the hospital grounds and there are opportunities for candidates to be employed by both private and public services, with an attractive remuneration package available. There is also the opportunity to work in Breast Screening.
The Medical Imaging Department has ten Radiologists, and three Radiology Registrars. Medical Imaging encourages and supports close clinical interaction with our colleagues both within the hospital setting and the community.
