About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available to join a dynamic Mental Health and Addictions Services specializing in Mental Health Services for Older People in a beautiful part of New Zealand. This role, part time at 24 hours per week, offers the suitable candidate flexible working across the week.

The role is based in the Main Hospital Campus,  a large organisation (1,500 staff) operating in an exciting, changing health sector. It provides secondary healthcare services for a population of 110,000 with support from tertiary care centres in Auckland. It is a district general hospital in one of the most spectacular regions of New Zealand. Its services include 24 hour emergency department, medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, anaesthetics, radiology and pathology

The preferred candidate is expert in psychiatry for the elderly and has experiences working with diverse teams. The position works across the whole community, including outreach into specialist aged care providers and in patient expertise to the small in patient service facility.

This role has an on-call component (1:6) and benefits from a unique recruitment and retention bonus (20%) for the suitable candidate.

The successful candidates should have comprehensive experience and training in Psychiatry and a board certification or specialist qualification and must have vocational registration or eligibility for this.

The beautiful Lakes District of Rotorua and Taupo is well known for its outdoor recreational options including trout fishing, walking tracks, cycling and mountain biking. Lake and river water sports such as boating and kayaking are exceptional.
