A Consultant Paediatric Emergency Physician is sought for a full time role in the Paediatric Department of a major government hospital in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. The 500+ bed hospital has 24/7 emergency department, fully staffed family medicine department, paediatric, medical, surgical and psychiatric departments and all major specialities are provided on in patient and out patient basis. The hospital has the regional cardiac surgery department for the Hijaz Region and performs paediatric and adult cardiac acute and elective surgical procedures. The paediatric department provides general paediatric and subspecialist services, neonatology and paediatric intensive care services.
The Emergency Department is staffed by dedicated emergency physicians at consultant, specialist and resident level. Paediatric Emergency patients are triaged and managed separately from adults.
The paediatric emergency physician will join a team of Consultants and Specialists who are responsible for full time assessment and treatment of children up to the age of 18 in the Emergency Department and will be expected to liaise with general paediatricians.Teaching duties are expected for the training of the junior medical staff. Research and audit are also encouraged.
Working hours are 48 per week Sunday - Thursday. Employment contracts are of one year's duration and renewable.

In order to be considered for this role you must have the following credentials:
- American Board of Emergency Medicine and Paediatric Emergency Medicine, FRCPC, MRCEM / CCT or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification in paediatric emergency medicine
- Fellowship or postgraduate training in paediatric emergency medicine
- Fluent English communication, Arabic desirable
