The obstetric service provides a range of primary and secondary inpatient and outpatient care in the region including obstetric ultrasound and a multidisciplinary antenatal diabetic clinic.

The neonatal unit accepts babies from 28 weeks gestation. Primary Birthing units are located in Palmerston North, Levin and Dannevirke. There are around 2000 births a year within the DHB.
