An experienced consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist is sought for a secondary care hospital in the lower North Island of New Zealand. The ideal applicant will have at least five years working at specialist level, and experience in ‘high risk’ Obstetrics and Ultrasound (ideally some form of advanced training such as the DDU or a recognised equivalent).
The obstetric service provides a range of primary and secondary inpatient, outpatient, day patient and community-based care from a 360 bed hospital. Gynaecology services, including colposcopy and fertility clinics, are provided at the hospital on an inpatient and outpatient basis for women throughout the region which has 170 000 inhabitants. Outpatient clinics are also provided 2 additional local health centres.
The hospital is a teaching hospital, affilaited with the universities of Auckland and Otago and is situated in an university city just 2 hours' drive from Wellington the capital of NZ.
Applicants must be eligible for Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, speak fluent English and hold a postgraduate qualification equivalent to the FACOG.
