Our client, based in a coastal region of New Zealand seeks to appoint a Radiologist with Subspecialist Interventional Radiology skills and appropriate qualification, to lead and manage the development of the Interventional Radiology Service . This radiologist will also perform general reporting as rostered.
The position will be based the health board which has two campuses and serves a population base of 214,000.
The main radiology department comprises of 4 general rooms (includes 1 room in the Emergency Department), a Toshiba Aquilion One CT scanner, four colour doppler ultrasound machines, and a Siemens fluoroscopy suite. A private MRI facility is operational on-site. A second CT is currently being installed. The smaller Radiology Department comprises of 2 general rooms, a Toshiba Prime CT scanner and two colour doppler ultrasound machines.
The appointee would join a medical staff of 18 other Radiologists and 6 Registrars. The department’s workload comprises of general radiology, ultrasound, MDCT, angiography and a range of interventional procedures. An on-call component allows us to offer a 24 hour acute service.
