Are you an Infectious Diseases/General Physician looking for a new opportunity?
Our client, a district general hospital in the lower part of the North Island of New Zealand has an opening starting September 2018 for a physician with infectious diseases training for a dual role. The physician will join a team of 12 physicians who contrinbute to the general medicine acute on call rota admitting and assessing patients prior to their referral to other subspecialists. In addition, the physician is part of the Infectious Disease service which provides specialist outpatient services, consults on inpatients and supports primary health care with advice. This post also provides clinical support to our Infection Prevention and Control Service.
The hospital is affiliated with the universities of Auckland and Otago and has teaching duties. It provides secondary care and selected tertiary care as the regional head and neck unit. Services in neurosurgery, cardiac surgery and plastic surgery are not provided.
To be considered for this role you must be eligible for vocational registration in Internal Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand with specialist training / qualification in Infectious Diseases, as well as having demonstrated clinical, management, and teaching skills and the ability to work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team.
