An exciting opportunity exists for two skilled and enthusiastic Consultant General Surgeons to join the clinical team in a regional hospital in coastal Western Australia in a role which offers a vast range of varied experience, and requires initiative, resilience and a sense of adventure.

- Specialist registration in General Surgery with Australian Medical Board (AHPRA) required

In this role you will provide a high standard of surgical care to in patients and out patients. You will also provide administrative leadership in combination with other Surgeons and with the Clinical Nurse Specialist of Surgery, as well as participate in programs to ensure safety and quality of surgical services including audit, incident review and clinical practice Improvement projects. You will take responsibility for policy development and review and provide training, supervision and education for trainee Medical Officers.
You must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), hold fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons or equivalent at the date of commencing duties and a member of the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA) for upper and lower endoscopies. You must have demonstrated extensive training and experience in General Surgery with an understanding of the complexities of regional and remote hospital based health services.
You must have well developed communication and interpersonal skills, effective participation and leadership in a multi-disciplinary team environment with a strong interest and commitment to teaching and research. Understanding of the rural medial environment, substantial and current experience in relevant research including study design, implementation, evaluation, presentation and publication. Experience and abilities to foster strong relationships between general practice and specialist medical services is desirable.
Salary: $354,487-451,677 pa (inclusive of base salary, 9.5% superannuation and professional development allowance)
