An Emergency Physician consultant is sought for a permanent full time role in a brand new Emergency Department in the North Island of New Zealand. The 270 bed hospital covers a population of 145,000 and is affiliated with the University of Wellington Medical School. The Emergency Department sees 47,000 patients per year (mixed adult and paediatric demographic) with 24-25% admission rates and is supported by an 18 bed Medical Planning and Assessment Unit and excellent medical and surgical teams,
The hospital contains the regional plastic surgery service and rheumatology service and has a strong focus on innovation and sevice development,
The emergency physician is expected to participate in clinical audit and peer reviews to ensure on going service quality.

To be considered for this role you must have the following credentials:
- eligibility for vocational registration in emergency medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- FACEM or equivalent
- experience as a consultant / attending emergency physician
