The Role

We are seeking a Consultant Otolaryngologist to join the ENT team in a role based in a regional hospital 2 hours from Auckland. This is a full time permanent position, however, the hours and role could be flexed around the needs of the individual. Our preferred candidate would be fellowship trained in subspecialty ORL (Rhinology and/or Head and Neck preferred) with a comprehensive scope of practise to cover most general ORL conditions.

You must have a qualification that allows Vocational Registration as an ENT Surgeon with the Medical Council of New Zealand.  It would be preferred if the applicant had a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS), however other equivalent certifications such as FRCS and CCT, FRCSC, American Board are accepted. Participation in the consultant on-call roster (1:4) is required.

The Hospital

The role is based in a region of the North Island of New Zealand with 4 hospitals covering an extensive area of territory. The largest hospital is a regional base hospital with 350 + beds providing secondary care services including 24/7 emergency department, medical and surgical specialties, ICU, ENT, O&G, Paediatrics and Psychiatry.  The three smaller hospitals provide basic primary and secondary care. The population has complex health needs.

The Location

The successful applicant will be living in a beautiful part of New Zealand with warm summers, mild winters and lots of opportunities for outdoor activities on land and at sea just two hours' drive from Auckland, with regular flights to and from Auckland Airport.
