This is an exciting and challenging role for a physician who likes to combine anaesthesia and general practice skills. The District Medical Officer practises independently and in a variety of settings using skills in anaesthesia (including obstetric and paediatric anaesthesia), emergency medicine and primary healthcare.
The District Medical Officer, anaesthetics proceduralist position provides clinical service to the hospital as well as outreach clinics in surrounding remote communities. This position reports to and is supported by the Senior Medical Officer at each site. The successful candidate will be rostered to clinical duties in the Emergency Department and/or GP clinics at each hospital as well as being rostered to a 1:3 anaesthetics roster.
