A consultant General Radiologist is sought for a full time role in a district general hospital in a coastal area of the north island of New Zealand. The hospital serves a population of 214,000 and the radiology department is split between two sites: one department comprises 4 general rooms (includes 1 room in the Emergency Department), 2 Toshiba CT scanners, four colour doppler ultrasound machines, and a Siemens fluoroscopy suite. A private MRI facility is operational on-site. The other department comprises 2 general rooms, a Toshiba Prime CT scanner and two colour doppler ultrasound machines.
The appointee would join a medical staff of 18 other Radiologists and 6 Registrars. The radiology services workload comprises of general radiology, ultrasound, MDCT, angiography and a range of interventional procedures. An on-call component allows the hospital to offer a 24 hour acute service.
