A new Clinical Psychologist role is open now for psychologists with a healthcare background and interest in the mental health of indigenous peoples. The specialist community mental health team in the lower North Island of New Zealand, serves the Maori population with the purpose of improving the level and effectiveness of mental health services provided to patients with moderate to severe range of mental health disorders.
The post is full time with a 40-hour working week and salary is based upon the national framework.
You should have a back ground in healthcare, and registration as a clinical psychologist with the Psychologists Board of New Zealand plus experience in a clinical setting.
The role is based with the regional health board which has over 2500 employees working across a 350-bed general hospital and several regional clinics serving a population of 170,000. It is affiliated with Auckland and Otago medical schools.
Palmerston North is an university city, home of Massey University, and just 2 hours from capital city Wellington. It is a key transport hub the central North island ski slopes and close to the stunning wine growing regions of Hawk’s Bay and Wairarapa. It has excellent schools and a great standard of living.
