The American Hospital Dubai is one of the premier private hospitals in the Middle East Gulf Region offering primary, secondary and selected tertiary care to adults and children of all ages in Dubai,
the United Arab Emirates and surrounding region.
The first hospital in the Middle East to gain Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, it offers American standard medical care from a purpose built modern campus in the centre of Dubai
and several polyclinics located throughout the emirate. Its laboratories were the first private facilities
to gain accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
As Dubai's economy started to boom in the late 1980s and early 1990s, there was a deficit of quality and reliable medical services in the emirate and patients usually had to travel overseas to seek advanced treatments. The mission of the American Hospital was to fill that gap and provide advanced, expert medical care for the rapidly expanding and diverse population, locally accessible, without the need to travel far.
Since it first opened its doors in 1992, the American Hospital has expanded physically with the construction of a new tower on campus adding additional beds and clinics to accommodate the increasing numbers of patients seeking the increasing diversity and specialisation of its services.
In recent years, polyclinics have been opened throughout the city of Dubai to allow easier access
to patients attending for out patient treatments.
Throughout its journey, the American Hospital has remained steadfastly true to its founding principle of ethical and high quality medical services and has continued to bring pioneering technologies and medical expertise to enrich the lives of the people of Dubai.

of Mayo Clinic for the betterment of patients in the UAE and surrounding region.
The American Hospital has a 24/ 7 emergency department, fully staffed family medicine department and urgent care clinics. It has 254 beds (with capacity up to 400) and closed intensive care unit.
