The Thumbay Group, an international business conglomerate with a healthcare division based in Ajman, has announced a major investment of $326 million to expand its operations in the UAE.
The Thumbay Group was established in 1998 in Ajman, UAE and developed business divisions in healthcare, education, pharmacy, medical research, diagnostics, retail opticals, hospitality, real estate and more.
The Healthcare Division has 4 brands:
- Thumbay Hospitals: 4 hospitals in Ajman, Dubai, Fujaira and Sharjah
- GNC Hospital: located in Ajman, it is the first Ajman Hospital to have a Cardiac Cath Lab and the first to be awarded JCI accreditation.
- Thumbay Clinics: providing affordable medical care
- Thumbay Medical Tourism: offering affordable medical care to international patients.
Gulf Medical University and the Centre for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare (CASH) is also owned by the group.
The group aims to open 15 more hospitals in the UAE and in addition a chain of Eye Hospitals and Fertility Centres.
The new teaching hospital to be built at the Gulf Medical University in Ajman will have 400 beds, 60 dental chairs and a high tech rehabilitation centre making it the largest private academic hospital in the region. It will also be distinguished by having the first robotic pharmacy in the region.
Additional hospitals will be built in Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Ghana.
The group projects the addition of 15,000 more jobs in the UAE by 2020.
