Medical Job Trends 2015 | Check out what skills are in most demand

16th Sep 2015

Our analysis of new medical jobs in the international health care sector showed that the UAE was the most dynamic job creator in 2015 to date, with the private sector healthcare infrastructure development the key driver of job creation.

The private sector focuses on key specialist areas and we have noted that these have focused on the following skills:

  1. Neurology
  2. Neurosurgery
  3. Orthopaedic Surgery
  4. Breast Surgery
  5. Breast Radiology
  6. Emergency Medicine
  7. Urology
  8. Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Job growth in Saudi Arabia has been slower with the oil price crash slowing development and salary increases. Key skills are:

  1. Emergency Medicine
  2. Paediatric Cardiac Surgery
  3. Cardiology
  4. Neurosurgery
  5. Neurology

Demand in other areas has been slower due to cut backs in healthcare finances. Australia, Canada and New Zealand show demand for generalists rather than specialists:

  1. Family Medicine (General Practice)
  2. Paediatrics
  3. Internal Medicine
  4. General Surgery
