From August 1st this year, Dubai Health Authority has stated that no visas, whether initial or renewal, will be issued without health insurance. This has forced the majority of employers to comply with the 2013 Law which made insurance mandatory. Small companies with less than 100 employees have until June 2016 to comply with this legislation.
Note to all candidates: All job applicants should now ensure that medical insurance is part of their remuneration package. Small clinics will be exempt from this regulation until June 2016.
