Arab Health Exhibition Dubai UAE

Arab Health Exhibition Dubai UAE

27th Jan 2017

Dubai Health Authority (the DHA) has revealed that it will join a range of other healthcare specialists at this year’s Arab Health Exhibition and Congress, which is held next week.

The event, which is now in its 42nd year, brings together a diverse range of experts, distributors and organisations through a series of modules, seminars and trade exhibitions - meaning that it is believed to be the world’s second largest healthcare exhibition - making it a must visit for medics across the Gulf region.

This year will feature a demonstration by some of the world’s leading heart and lung specialists from Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals in the UK, on the complex cardiac surgery required to help treat patients suffering from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy - one of the region’s most commonly inherited cardiac conditions.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a genetically passed down condition, which affects roughly 1 in every 500 people in the UK. In patients with the disorder the myocardium - the heart’s muscular wall - becomes thickened, stiffening the heart muscle and making it more difficult for the heart to pump blood around the body.

The condition is leading to an increasing number of deaths, especially amongst young people. With treatment highly complex and only able to be performed by a small number of leading heart and lung specialists it is therefore hoped that, by providing a demonstration at Arab Health, medics across the Gulf will be able to reduce the death rate from the condition.

Dubai’s World Trade Centre is the venue for this year’s event, which takes place between the 30th of January and the 2nd of February.

For medical professionals the United Arab Emirates can offer opportunities unlike anywhere else. High quality facilities, world leading tax free salaries and a focus on providing the highest possible quality of care make the sector an extremely rewarding one to work in. As well as this a focus on improvement means that seminars and events are regularly held in the country, making it a fascinating and career enhancing location for ambitious medics to move to.
