The healthcare sector in the Middle East remains dynamic with further planned hospital expansions and new clinics.
The Rashid Hospital Masterplan announced by the DHA in 2013 is in process with the completion of the addition of 160 beds to the hospital in May 2015. The expansion of the Trauma Centre is the first phase of the plan to be followed by the opening of 6 new medical centres with hotels and villas for staff as well as leisure services. The hospital will have 900 beds at the end of the project.
Qatar will open 6 new public health centres this year and a further 12 expected by 2018. Some of these will be run by private providers and a large number of medical jobs will be available in Qatar over the next few years. The population has grown by 200,000 in the last year making Qatar one of the fastest growing countries in the world.
