The United Arab Emirates has supplied more than 1,000 tons of personal protective equipment (PPE) and food aid worldwide to help countries fight the virus.

More than one million healthcare workers in over 70 countries have benefited from this delivery including China, Italy, Iran, Brazil, Russia, the UK and many more.

Earlier in the month, The UAE had delivered 6.6 tons of medical equipment to the United Kingdom to help the country produce pieces of PPE.

The UAE has also partnered up with some international organisations to enhance and boost their reach of the Covid-19 aid worldwide.

For example, last month, the country had set up a partnership with the UN World Food Programme (WFP) and launched an international air bridge operation to provide other nations with essential health and humanitarian supplies to those in need.

Around 80 percent of the World Health Organisation-procured supplies go through the world’s largest humanitarian hub in Dubai.

The UAE was also in the pledging conference hosted by European leaders to raise around €7.5 billion to discover, produce and disperse a Covid-19 vaccine.

They have shared genomic sequencing and mutation data on many global databases which includes the Covid-19 genome database - to help scientists worldwide to trace the spread of the virus.
