An online course has been set up to help promote mental health and wellbeing in the United Arab Emirates during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Science (MBRU) launched the Find Your Light course along with the National Programme for Happiness and Wellbeing to help encourage compassion during the coronavirus outbreak and build on the success of the university’s current digital learning initiatives.

The course was launched to teach specific techniques to increase self-awareness, noralise emotions and support well-being with the aim of enhancing social solidarity in unprecedented times like these.

Participants that use the programme will be able to gain new skills and experiences when it comes to mental health - the course is structured around the philosophy of compassion and inclusiveness.

The course is currently available for free on the university’s online learning platform. It is open to anyone globally and is available to participants as young as 11 years-old. It takes around 60 minutes to compete.

Many specialists in the field of mental health and academics from the MBRU had helped to create the programme.
